Ronnie Shaban was a highlight addition to the RISE Baseball coaching staff in 2018. Ronnie is a former professional pitcher from Chesterfield Virginia (Cosby High School). Ronnie busted into the scene in 2009 went he went on to play at Virginia Tech as both a pitcher/position player.
While at Virginia Tech Ronnie had a extremely successful two way baseball career with a batting average of .314, 18HRs, and a career 3.96ERA, in over collegiate 200 games.
Ronnie was drafted in the 49th round in the MLB draft in 2011 by the Baltimore Orioles & again in 2012 by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 33rd round.
After being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012 Shabans played professional baseball for six seasons making it all the way to the Memphis Redbirds (AAA). As a professional Pitcher Ronnie had an impressive resume posting a 3.24ERA in 276.2 innings, 73 saves, 17 wins & 241 strikeouts.
