Player Evaluation
Craig is very athletic player who continues to excel as both a pitcher and a position player. He is passionate about the game and works year-round to sharpen his skills.
PITCHING: Johnson has above average arm strength and does an excellent job pounding the strike zone. He has a plus change-up that is his go-to pitch with a lively fastball. With the recent addition of a breaking ball, Craig has pitched well at the varsity level this spring.
DEFENSE: Craig has solid range at third base and shortstop, and plenty of arm strength to play both positions. He displays good lateral quickness and excellent anticipation; Craig is a gamer and is not afraid to get dirty.
OFFENSE: Johnson, a lefty, has a short path the baseball, and has worked tirelessly to develop more balance throughout the swing. The result has been consistent contact and more barrel time in the hitting zone. A gap-to-gap guy with lift in his swing Craig possesses solid power to all fields. He is also an excellent bunter.
