Player Evaluation
UPDATE:
Chris Hayden Receives Conference 12, Second Team All Conference SS, and Honorable Mention 3B as a Junior 2015 and Second Team All Conference Outfielder as a sophomore 2014.
PITCHING: Chris is extremely explosive and very fast twitch when he is on the mound. Chris has a very explosive fastball and look like he is using minimal effort when he throws it. His change-up has great speed difference and great sink and is a good pitch to get left-handed hitters out in front and roll over for ground balls. Chris’ curveball is his out pitch, he has the ability to throw for a strike and for a swing and a miss to right and left handed hitters. Chris’ curve has no early hump in it and breaks extremely hard and late at home plate.
DEFENSE: Chris is the ideal utility player that has speed, a very strong arm and works very hard to be the best at every position. He has very quick feet and hands in the infield and takes good routes in the outfield. Because of Chris's very explosive first step and athletic quickness he is learning to become more smooth in all positions.
OFFENSE: Chris is a very fast twitched athlete and it shows as a hitter. He has very fast and strong hands at the plate which allows for him to hit the ball harder then any player in the RISE Baseball organization. Chris shows a lot of power from his bottom half and rarely gets beat by a fastball. Chris is currently working on getting better extension after contact.
